Lumber Baron Inn

The Lumber Baron Inn is a historic bed & breakfast with six rooms to rent.  Your stay includes a five-course breakfast each morning served on crystal, china and linens.  Each room has its own private bath.

This historic bed & breakfast sits on the Great River State Trail – ideal for biking, running and walking.

The Lumber Baron Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house was built in 1888. It has been completely renovated and restored to its natural beauty. It is listed for two reasons: first, because it retains all of the original woodwork, lights, and stained glass. Second, for the man himself, as he had the first mill in Onalaska. The house also has an underground water sprinkling system, and he put in one of the first combination gas machine, which lighted the home.
