Join us on Winter Solstice, Saturday, December 21st 9am to 3pm for a FREE Solstice Jam Tasting and Pop-Up Shop at Kinstone!
WHAT: Solstice Jam Tasting and Pop-Up Shop! This is a FREE holiday JAM TASTING and TEA SAMPLING event plus excellent Holiday Shopping for LOCAL Arts & Crafts, Honey, Crystals, Kinstone merch and so much more – including Lichtenberg art pendants – have you ever heard of that? Look it up! It’s like lightning captured in wood. Very cool!
WHEN: December 21st – Winter Solstice day! The Gift Shop will be open as soon as our morning Winter Solstice Observance is done (that starts at 7am!).
TIME: 9am to 3pm (the Gift Shop will be open as soon as the 7am Winter Solstice Observance is over)
WHERE: In the Kinstone Visitor Center / Gift Shop
COST: THIS IS A FREE EVENT and there is NO registration required
WHAT TO BRING: Bring family and friends! Bring your holiday spirit! Bring your joy! And of course, bring your shopping dollars! Be ready to taste jam, tea, and/or honey! We will also have holiday cookies, hot cocoa and hot cider!
Our Gift Shop has loads of wonderful gifts and a selection of unique and fun stocking stuffers for anyone on your list. While you shop, enjoy some tasty treats and teas. See all the photos in this event page below for some ideas of what we have! The 2025 KINSTONE CAT CALENDAR is in stock and would make a great gift for yourself or others. AND – we have a first ever, debut KINSTONE ORNAMENT in stock as well – this one features the dragon design! PLUS – 2025 Season Passes will be available for sale – and a free Kinstone ornament goes to anyone who gets a season pass before the end of 2024!
Weather permitting, the Kinstone grounds will be open – just come in and pay your admission ($10/person) when you arrive – and wear boots and dress extra warmly if you plan to wander!
TASTE SENSATIONS: Taste and see – many varieties of jams/jellies that you may never have heard of much less tried! Plus, amazing tea options!
JAM TASTING: We will have many varieties of Kristine’s amazing locally harvested and hand-crafted Jams and Jellies available for tasting. Have you tried Gooseberry jam? What about Red Raspberry-Currant jam? Interested in boosting your antioxidants? Don’t forget to try our rarest jams made with the fruit of Cornelian Cherry Dogwood trees growing right here at Kinstone! Half-pints of Kristine’s various tasty jams and jellies are available for sale in the gift shop while they last.
TEA SAMPLING: We will also have several types of tea ready for you to try – including amazing herbal varieties from Sacred Blossom Farm located right here in Buffalo County as well as some imported Imperial Black and Hunan Yellow tea obtained from the Imperial Tea Court shop – just for fun. Hot Cocoa and Hot Cider will also be available for those who prefer.
HONEY: Try a touch of Kinstone honey in your tea! Available for purchase in half-pint or pint sizes; this honey tastes of summer in the Kinstone Prairie… sweet, sublime, freshly harvested and super local! Great to have in your home for the holidays, or to give as a sweet hostess gift or a special secret Santa treat.
HOLIDAY COOKIES: we will have a few complimentary treats for those who may wish to nibble on something festive.
CRYSTALS and STONES: Did you know that Kinstone has an incredible selection of unique crystals and stones? Come find the one perfect for you or for someone on your gift-giving list.
LOCAL ARTS AND CRAFTS: Come see the wonderful gift items in our store made by local artists and crafters. Baskets, mugs, candles, photo cards, paintings, crocheted toys and dolls, catnip toys, magnets, stickers, 3-d printed articulated dragons, and so much more. We have a new hand-crafted dragon for sale that is just so cool! We call it “My Familiar” and it has an internal wire that lets you bend it, so it winds around any suitable thing – like your arm or your desk lamp!
