The Hackner Touch: A Legacy of Sacred Craftsmanship Exhibit

Egid Hackner created a lasting legacy with his company’s expertly designed and crafted church furnishings. For nearly a century, the E. Hackner Co. of La Crosse built altars, statues, and furnishings for churches locally and nationwide, including the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration’s Mary of the Angels and Perpetual Adoration Chapels in La Crosse.

This exhibition at the La Crosse Area Heritage Center at 506 Main Street features over 50 artifacts from the E. Hackner Company and those of Egid’s daughter, Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Marietta Hackner. The exhibit runs through October 5, 2024. The Heritage Center is open Thursday-Saturday, 10:30-4:30, last admission at 4:00 pm.
