Fall in love with the brilliant colors of the La Crosse Region this Autumn!

Autumn is such a beautiful time to visit the La Crosse Region!

As the colors begin to change along the ancient bluff sides, the Region’s vibrancy continues to burst. When you’re ready, visit famous overlooks of the Mississippi River highlighted in reds, oranges, and yellows. Check out the many shops, coffee shops, fine eateries, supper clubs, orchards, and wineries our Region has to offer!

Update: October 31st Happy Halloween to the La Crosse Region! We’re saying farewell to the fall foliage and fall days as we head closer to the cooler months. We hope everyone enjoyed the golden moments among the bluffs and gorgeous waterways and we can’t wait to see fall colors paint our region in 2023!

Update: October 24th Happy spooky season! The La Crosse Region has passed its peak colors with gorgeous goldens, reds and oranges for the year. The cooler weather and the recent warm up has caused our region to burst with color and now has faded until next year. Enjoy the rest of fall and get some last minute hikes in as we head into the cooler months ahead!

Update: October 17th We’re peaking! The La Crosse Region is bursting with bright fiery reds, burnt oranges and yellows and you may still see a few patches of green among the bluffs. It feels like fall this week, with the cooler temps freezing over night, but we still have some of those beautiful sunny days ahead.

Update: October 10th We’re getting closer and closer to the anticipated peak fall colors! The La Crosse Region has certainly become lush to oranges and yellows along the bluffs. Now is a great time to grab your friends and family to take a quick hike and snap those beautiful photos as the weather has cooled down a bit.

Update: October 4th Happy Fall! The La Crosse Region is finally starting to see vibrant oranges and yellows throughout the bluffs. Take a drive or walk downtown and you’ll see fall is in the air. It’s started to freeze overnight and warm up to the perfect cool, fall temps, enjoy the sun and beautiful hiking weather!

Update: September 27th We’re falling for this cool autumn air! Enjoy the crisp breeze as it’s perfect for a bonfire and relaxing outside as we enter fall this year. The leaves are patterned with oranges and yellows, but sticking mainly to green foliage as we enter October at the end of the week.

Update: September 20th You may notice leaves dotting the bluffs starting to turn yellow or red here and there! Most of the La Crosse Region is still covered in light and dark green leaves, but we’ve had a little bit of a warm streak. We’re still enjoying those warm afternoons, but within the week will be those crisp, fall days.

Update: September 13th The Driftless Region is cooling down, we’ve got crisp cool mornings and warm afternoons, perfect for an early morning hike. The leaves are starting to turn a light green along the bluffs, summer is still lingering, but fall will soon be here!

Update: September 6th
The leaves are a lively green as we enjoy our last warm summer days, the weather is perfect for a hike as the bugs and humidity are low. Enjoy the cool morning breeze and warm up to the perfect temp for your end of summer hike!
