La Crosse Wind Symphony Spring Concert

This is the final concert of the 2023-24 season and features our annual high school honor musicians – 16 area high school band students recommended by their teachers and selected through an application and audition process to perform on the second half of the program in a side-by-side experience under music director Jeff Krauklis, performing John Klohr’s famous “Billboard March”, “Satiric Dances” by Norman Dello Joio and concluding with the powerful “Give Us This Day” by David Maslanka, to be conducted by guest director Dr. Tammy Fisher of UWL. Other works on the program include the historic 19th century wind work “Universal Judgement” by Camille De Nardis, Alfred Reed’s “First Suite For Band” and “Allegro Impetuoso” from Vaclav Nelhybel’s “Two Symphonic Movements”. The start time for this program has been moved from the original 3:00 pm time to 7:00 pm. The concert is free and open to the public, though free-will offerings are gladly accepted.
