This summer, the La Crosse Jazz Orchestra invites you to be part of something truly special. Our 51st Jazz in the Park concert series an unforgettable celebration of music, community, and creativity—featuring tributes to jazz legends Sammy Nestico and Quincy Jones, plus a stirring homage to America’s Parks. We’re especially excited to welcome Tom Wopat as our featured guest artist for our August 3rd concert. Tom brings his signature energy and artistry to the stage with selections from his recents album Simple Man and Swinging Jazz Standards.
July 13 – Sammy's Groove, A Tribute To Sammy Nestico. Though best known for his work for the Count Basie Orchestra, Sammy has been a frequent writer for the German WDR big band, Michael Bublé, Barbara Streisand, Frank Sinatra and Natalie Cole. Featured vocalist is Cathy Reitz.
July 20 – My Man Quincy, A Tribute To Quincy Jones. America's best know producer, musician and composer for his work with Michael Jackson's Thriller , The Wiz and We are The World. Featured vocalist is Tim Henke.
July 27 – America's Great Parks , will pay tribute to musical selections associated with Theme Parks and National parks. Lots of great tunes you might not even think of! This concert features Andy Temte as our guest vocalist.
August 3 – Our final concert of the season featuring Tom Wopat as guest vocalist.
