Join a ranger for a leisurely guided walk through the refuge prairie to enjoy the beautiful wildflowers currently in bloom! Along the way, you'll learn how to identify some of the prairie’s native flowers. After returning to the visitor center, participants will create their own cyanotype (sun print) using prairie plants and wildflowers observed along the hike. Each participant will take home their own unique, nature-inspired artwork at the end of the program. This event will best be enjoyed by adults and children ages 7+, but all ages are welcome. The walking path is accessible by wheelchair.
Please meet at the three-panel kiosk by the Visitor Center parking lot at 10 a.m. Be prepared for sunny, warm conditions. The prairie trail has little to no shade, so be sure to wear sun protection, bring water, and dress for the weather. Please leave pets at home.
