Artistic expression offers the opportunity for spiritual growth, transformation and healing. This monthly open watercolor studio is a chance to play and learn new techniques without worrying about perfection or finished product. Meet new friends and practice listening to your heart as you paint.
Instructor: Mary Thompson
You are invited to attend any or all sessions. Each month features a different theme.
Note: Participants ages 8-16 may attend for free with a paid adult. Call 608-791-5295 for more information.
Supplies needed: Supplies needed: watercolor paints and paper, pencil, pen, brushes, paper towels, water container, reference photo or object (depending on theme). Supplies are provided to in-person participants, but feel free to bring your own paints, brushes, etc.
MAY THEME: Earthy, warm brown nests, bright blue eggs, built with attention to detail according to the robin. It might look like a hodgepodge of sticks, but it is built with great intention by the female robin with a little help from the male. A nest is a sweet, sturdy place to call home. We will celebrate the arrival of our loyal friends coming home to spend the summer with us. Drawing and painting a nest is a lovely practice of gratitude for the birdlife we’ve been graced with. Please bring a photo of your favorite bird nest to class. I will have a few actual nests to look at as well.
