Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the refuge and the arrival of spring by joining us on Saturday May 18, 2024 for live bird banding and bird identification. Have you ever wondered how researchers band the little legs on song birds? Now is your chance to learn! As part of the 100th Anniversary Interpretive Series on the refuge, there will be FREE live bird banding demonstrations with a variety of experts on-site to help identify birds and explain how and why we band birds.

Where: the Shady Maple Interpretive Trail at Goose Island County Park near Stoddard, WI. After you turn into Goose Island County Park off of Hwy 35, it will be the first parking
lot on the left.

When: Saturday May 18, 2024, 7:00am – 11:00am
