Hans Mayer is a singer/songwriter who has performed with numerous popular musical acts for both adult and family audiences. Hans’s show include vocals, guitar, mandolin, bass and Native American flute.
Hans’ concert at Journey will consist of two parts: the first half will be for families and children and following a break, the music will be geared toward adults.
The family show will feature many of Hans’ popular songs for kids including “My Brother Eats Bugs,” (yes, his brother really did eat bugs and the principal really did send home a note to Hans’ mom), “See You Later Alligator,” and the number one requested song at school gigs: “God Bless My Underwear.” All of Hans’ shows include lots of silly songs to get the giggle meters going which are absolute crowd pleasers! Hans gets both parents and kids involved in the shows, so be ready to be silly along with the kids!
After the break, Hans will play music for adults featuring infectious, original, acoustic based music with a little bit of swing, a slice of bluegrass and a little bit of soul. Selected cover pieces range from “Loose As a Goose” (co-written with Johnsmith), to “Street of Dreams” (by Bill Miller).
As a bass player and vocalist Hans has toured, written and recorded with the Grammy winning artist Bill Miller. His work with Miller included performances on Austin City Limits, the Today Show and live shows at the Nashville Ryman Theatre (the former Grand Old Opera). Hans has played with many popular area bands and musicians including the Mayer Brothers Band, Johnsmith, Dan Sebranek, Hot Sauce (with Larry Dalton and Wayne Beezley) and a current Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young tribute group. Hans’ music for children has won several nationally prestigious awards and he is a popular performer at festivals, special events, and hundreds of schools, libraries and churches.
