James and the Giant Peach

The University of Wisconsin La Crosse Department of Theatre and Dance proudly presents James and the Giant Peach, a fun and magical musical perfect for the whole family. James and the Giant Peach will show April 5-6 & 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees on April 7 & 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland Theatre, Lowe Center for the Arts on the UWL campus (333 N. 16th Street, La Crosse).

Based on Roald Dahl’s book of the same name, James and the Giant Peach is a whimsical and magical journey of one boy out to change his life and find a real family. After discovering a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach, James climbs inside and meets a group of outrageous oversized insects who’ve made the peach their home. James and his new friends roll their peach into the ocean and embark on a fantastic voyage forcing them to face hunger, sharks, and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James’ quick wit and creative thinking, they learn to work together as a family. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and curiously quirky characters, James and the Giant Peach is a musical for the whole family to enjoy.
Tickets go on sale online beginning October 1, 2023 at www.uwlax.edu/theatre-and-dance. In person/phone ticket sales begin April 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Box office hours beginning April 1 are 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour before show times. Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for senior/non UWL students and $8 for UW-L students; call (608) 785-6696. All tickets printed at the box office or held at will call will incur an additional fee. Patrons are encouraged to buy their tickets online and download the tickets to their phone/email. Assigned seating.
