This band is one of the finest polka bands in the Midwest. Now in its third generation of Malek musicians, Malek’s Fishermen Band continues to play a mix of Czech/Bohemian and German styles of music, including polkas, waltzes, two-steps, and schottisches as well as country, big band, and Dixieland.

Becky & the Ivanhoe Dutchmen are one of our most popular bands. Yes, Becky is most comfortable playing barefoot; but, it’s the music that keeps people coming back. Becky and her band play a wide variety of venues and in 1996 they performed for the Smithsonian Institution’s Festival of American Folklife in Washington, D.C.

The Rhythm Playboys have been playing together for more than 60 years and they still generate energy and excitement everywhere they perform. Band members Denny Marion, Ryan Herman and Karl Hartwich play polkas, waltzes, two-steps, schottisches, and other popular music.

The Brueggen family has spawned at least three popular polka bands. Brian and the Mississippi Valley Dutchmen descend from this talented family. Playing German polka, swing, waltz, and country two-step, they are a band that inspires true German spirit as well as appealing to country sensibilities.

Winona’s Brian Pruka will be teaching a handful of dances (mostly beginner, perhaps one or two intermediate). The goal is to have regular line dance nights every other Thursday.
