They Rode the War Eagle

Robert Taunt gives a lively and interesting look at the way our area was affected by steamboat travel in the 19th century. His presentation will be “They Rode the War Eagle,” a look into the lives of some of the passengers and crew of the famous steamer that burned at the mouth of the Black River in 1870, including the tragic story of the Gullickson family of Mindoro.
