George Bernard Shaw said, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” This quote is inside the elevator in the Children’s Museum of La Crosse to remind us all of the power of play for all ages.
The Children’s Museum is offering an opportunity to adults to PLAY AGAIN…and boost their creativity and mental health…at Adult Recess on Friday, April 20 from 6 to 9 pm. This event, for ages 21 and above, will include:
- Access to the Museum’s three floors of interactive exhibits, including the Grossology traveling exhibit and the new multi-level climber
- “Dirt” pudding cups and other snacks and Pearl Street Brewery beer, Purple Feet Wines, and water & soft drinks from Pepsi (1 free beverage, then cash bar + pint glass to take home)
- Live music by Austin Skalecki
- Plus…temporary tattoos, henna art, photo booth, Grossology trivia competition, booger pong, cornhole, and more silly smart activities to boost your mood, creativity & productivity.
Only $10 per person in advance or $12 day of event. Advance registration is available at Funmuseum.org/adultrecess or by contacting the Museum.
All proceeds will support affordable, hands-on learning and play for the young and the young at heart.
University of Wisconsin students are assisting the Museum in planning and staffing the Adult Recess event.
April 20 is also the start date of downtown La Crosse’s Restaurant Week. Learn more at restaurantweeklacrosse.com
