If you have ever wanted to learn how to dye silk using plants found in the area, you will have your opportunity in August! Beki Biesterfelt is a great teacher who will walk you through the whole process. In this class, you will learn to prepare and extract color from fresh goldenrod, prepare a ready-to-dye silk scarf using Shibori techniques to create patterns, and then dye your scarf.
There is a $25 class registration fee due to Beki by August 1 so silk can be prepared for dying, and a $25 kit fee due the day of the class (which includes a silk scarf and use of equipment and supplies)
