Just because it is winter in the Midwest, doesn’t mean the adventure has to stop! With good food, beautiful scenery, and amazing holiday experiences, this day in La Crosse is a must-add to your winter bucket list. Start your day with an amazing breakfast, meet Sunny the Sunfish, take a hike along a historic trail, and check out some of the best holiday lights in the Midwest!

Blue Moon Restaurant

Blue Moon Restaurant is a great starting point for your day! Over looking Lake Onalaska, the views are beautiful. Before even going inside we stood in the parking lot and watched 5 bald eagles flying overhead. It was an amazing way to start the day before enjoying some spotted Mickey Mouse Pancakes and Colossal French Toast. PC @mnbucketlistmom

Sunny the Sunfish

After breakfast drive across the street to check out Sunny the Sunfish, the ambassador of Onalaska. Sunny sits 15 feet high and 25 feet long! This is also a great place to see bald eagles soaring through the sky and perched in the trees along the banks. Bundle up and head out for a hike along the Great River State Trail which connects 101 miles of trails. PC @mnbucketlistmom

Rotary Holiday Lights

End your day with a visit to the beautiful in the Rotary Lights, running Nov 24-Dec 31st. Stop by the live nativity scene, visit with Santa, and meet some of his reindeer! Our favorite part of the evening was taking a carriage ride through the park. With over 3,000,000 lights, this is such an amazing experience. PC @mnbucketlistmom
