For Ages 16+
Participants will create a sterling silver ring featuring a cabochon stone while learning the fundamentals of metalsmithing.
Discover the art of metalsmithing by creating your own sterling silver ring or pendant featuring a genuine cabochon stone. In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of metalsmithing, including measuring, texturing, soldering, filing, sanding, polishing, and bezel stone setting. No experience is necessary.
All tools, sterling silver, stones, and materials are included. Each participant will leave with a beautiful handcrafted sterling silver ring or pendant they created themselves.
Skill Level: Beginner – No experience necessary
Students will be using torches and metalsmithing tools, participants need to be able to safely follow instructions and work independently.
Duration: Approximately 3½ hours
Class Size: Maximum of 6 participants
What to Wear & Bring:
- – Closed-toe shoes are required.
- – Wear comfortable clothing suitable for working in a studio.
- – Long hair must be tied back.
- – Safety glasses will be provided.
- – Feel free to bring a snack and a water bottle, as this is approximately a 3½-hour workshop. Water or Soda is also available for purchase at Pump House.
All levels of Pump House are wheelchair- and walker-friendly and accessible by elevator.
