One Mile Leadership Project is a 501.c.3 not for profit that creates connections between veterans and civilians by creating challenging efforts. This year, Team One Mile is supporting families of fallen service members by providing access to Camp Hometown Heroes, a Wisconsin-based summer camp for Gold Star Children. Team One Mile also will be supporting Operation Guardian Angel, an organization that supports disabled veterans by helping them to get involved in endurance sports.
Team One Mile members will be completing a five-day, 700 mile bicycle ride in support of this year's efforts. Day One will be from Baraboo to La Crosse with the team of 20 riders and support staff arriving at the Freight House Restaurant at 5:00 PM on September 8. Riders will be available for a meet and greet with entertainment by Ashtyn Barbaree and Gaby Allong to follow. Complementary food and beverages will be provided.
