Artist Alley

Enjoy the sunshine and walk through the La Crosse historic downtown while visiting the artsy side of town! Stop into Artist Alley first before the shops open up and spend some time viewing local murals at this hidden gem, located in historic Downtown La Crosse. A great opportunity for photos! Riverside International Friendship Gardens

Next, stroll to Riverside Park right next to the hotel along the Mississippi. Find wonder in the signature attraction and prized jewel of the La Crosse Region. Here, you can also wander through the International Friendship Garden, sit and relax next to a water fountain or on a bench and watch the grand Mississippi River flow by. You might even catch live music going on at the Bandshell!

La Crosse Queen

Cruise along the Mississippi in one of the few “true” paddlewheelers still in operation in the country today. Enjoy great sightseeing and a historical overview of the grand riverboat. Beer, wine, and liquor are available on every cruise!

After the cruise head to Onalaska for a savory meal along the Great River Road. Blue Moon is located directly across Sunny the Sunfish, Lake Onalaska and near Great River Landing. Grab a juicy burger, crisp salad or seafood off their epic menu. Blue Moon is a historic roadside stop and if it’s nice enough, enjoy their outdoor seating options!

Great River Landing

Take a 5-minute drive back towards downtown and stop at Great River Landing, a famous overlook and visitor center on Lake Onalaska and the Black River. The landmark plays host to the trailhead of the Great River State Trail – an easy, flat gravel trail along the water to work off some of your hearty, Wisconsin lunch.

End your day by visiting the Pump House Regional Arts Center! The facility is an art gallery and theatre in another historic building in downtown La Crosse. Admire local art in the gallery and take a photo with their famous mural on the outer wall of the building.
