The air-conditioned trolley bus tours are guided by the region’s knowledgeable county historical society guides and other local historians, helping you uncover the beauty of the region’s riverfront, historical districts and scenic parks. From June – October, visitors can enjoy the region’s scenery and immersive, themed step-off experiences.

This 2.5 hour tour will drive through Historic Downtown La Crosse and have step-offs at the Hixon House and at Castle La Crosse. The tour at Hixon House will include a ground floor tour, time to walk through the gardens, and refreshments in the Visitor Center. Historic Castle La Crosse will also include a tour of its exquisite premises.
2. Dark La Crosse Tour

This guided experience focuses on La Crosse’s macabre past. Travel down a dark path through the red light district, small-town politics gone wrong, hot tempers, cold-blooded murders, and grisly events. The tour has step-offs at the Pump House Regional Arts Center, an exciting, private theater performance, and savory refreshments.
3. Bluff to Bluff Experience

Available Saturday afternoons between September and October, Experience the wonder of the La Crosse Region on this 4 hour, captivating trolley tour. From local wine and legendary history to breathtaking views atop ancient bluffs, this tour travels through Historic Downtown La Crosse before venturing up into the bluffs of the La Crosse Region. Visitors then cross the mighty Mississippi River into Minnesota to learn about the Apple Capital’s history in La Crescent, MN, enjoy views from Apple Blossom Overlook, and stop at Le Chateau for tantalizing flavors.
