La Crosse is known for its beauty in nature, but it is also an amazing place to experience art of all kinds. Whether is a spiritual destination for visitors from all over the world, art created by local artists, or elementary school artists just starting their creative journey, there is something for everyone in your family to enjoy.

Shrine of our Lady Guadalupe

About twenty minutes across the river is Shrine of our Lady Guadalupe. Take a pilgrimage of Shrine Church to experience the spiritual and artistic beauty offered here. The grounds include a votive candle chapel, a memorial to the unborn, the Shrine church itself, as well as a bookstore and gift shop. PC @mnbucketlistmom

Artist Alley

Just behind 444 Main Street is an alley of murals created by more than 8 local artists. This alley project was a partnership between the artists and Downtown Mainstreet to promote beauty and culture in La Crosse. My personal favorite was the wall of colorful faces and the kids loved the bee yourself mural. PC @mnbucketlistmom

River City Gallery

An art lovers trip to La Crosse isn’t complete without a trip to the River City Gallery. Located in downtown La Crosse, River City’s Mission is to create a curated cooperative art gallery and market where local and regional artists can be found and supported in our community. From sculptures to paintings to wood work and more, this is such a beautiful place to pick up your next piece of original art. PC @mnbucketlistmom

Pump House Regional Arts Center

Pump House Regional Arts Center is the perfect next stop on your agenda. It is a non profit that was founded in 1977 with a mission of enriching lives in the La Crosse region and beyond through visual, performing, and literary arts. There are currently three exhibition galleries that are free and open to the public. My kids absolutely loved the elementary school exhibit. My son has been practicing drawing since we returned home with the hopes of entering his art in a contest this summer! PC @mnbucketlistmom

Uno Venti

Located just across the street from the regional art center is a great dinner spot! Sit at the countertop and watch the chef create your pizza, or grab a seat outside overlooking the bridge and enjoy your pizza with a view. My personal favorite is the margherita pizza with a tiramisu for dessert! You can’t go wrong with za! PC @mnbucketlistmom
