The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge La Crosse District Visitor Center is located on Brice Prairie in Onalaska, WI. The Friends of the Refuge run a Nature Store within the Visitor Center and offer classes and workshops on native wildlife and plants. They work to build awareness, enjoyment and support of the Refuge through engagement, environmental experiences, education research, and habitat enhancement.
The Visitor Center has many interesting educational displays, walking trails and information about the Refuge. The Nature Store has many books, puzzles, tee-shirts and stuffed animals. All proceeds help the Friends fulfill their mission of supporting the Refuge and bringing opportunities to people in the surrounding area.
