Hans Mayer is a singer/songwriter who has performed with numerous popular musical acts for both adult and family audiences. Hans’ shows include vocals, guitar, mandolin, bass and Native American flute. He will be joined on stage by multi-instrumentalist, Sue Hauser on violin, flute, and various percussion instruments.
Hans’ concert at Journey Church will consist of two parts: the first half will be for families and children and following a break, the music will be geared toward adults.
The family show will feature many of Hans’ popular songs for kids including “My Bother Eats Bugs” (yes, his brother really did eat bugs and the principal really did send home a note to Hans’ mom), “See You Later Alligator” and the number one requested song at school gigs “God Bless My Underwear.” All of Hans’ shows include lots of silly songs to get the giggle meters going which are absolute crowd pleasers! Hans gets both parents and kids involved in the shows, so be ready to be silly along with your kids!
For the adult show, Hans will play infectious, acoustic based original music with a slice of swing, a tinge of bluegrass and and a little bit of soul. Selected cover pieces range from “Loose As A Goose” (co-written with Johnsmith) to “Street of Dreams” (by Bill Miller).
As a bass player and vocalist Hans has toured, written and recorded with the Grammy winning artist Bill Miller. His work with Miller included performances on Austin City Limits, the Today Show and live shows at the Nashville Ryman Theatre (the former Grand Old Opera). Hans’ music for children and families have won national attention from Parents’ Choice Awards, Independent Music Awards and Creative Child Magazine Music Awards.
