Day 1 – Thursday, August 15th, 2024

7:15 pm

Mississippi Speed Record: An Epic Adventure | The Rivoli Theater

Watch a Mississippi Speed Record Film at the Rivoli Theatre in La Crosse, WI from 6:00pm-8:00pm. come experience the journey of four men as they travel down the Mississippi River to beat the Guinness world record for paddling the entire 2,350-mile length of the river. After the premier, stick around for a question Q&A panel from the team and crewmembers!


Day 2 – Friday, August 16th, 2024

9 am – 5 pm

Free DIY Paddle Excursion | Black River Bottoms & Island Outdoors

Around Black River Bottoms on French Island from 9:00am – 5:00pm, there will be three (3) free rentals available. Kayaks donated by Island Outdoors, please call to reserve your equipment (608)- 782-5552.

Free DIY Paddle Excursion | Pettibone Lagoon

On Pettibone Lagoon at Pettibone Park, La Crosse, WI, visit the backwaters under “The Big Blue Bridge”. Listen as WI DNR Warden talks about water safety at 1:00 PM. Enjoy DIY Paddle Excursions with “Try-out” equipment is as follows: paddleboard, tandem or single kayaks, and canoes. Ten (10) free rental pieces of equipment have been donated by the La Crosse Park & Rec; please call ahead to reserve your equipment at (608)789-7533.

At the Great River Landing in Onalaska, WI, paddle around Airport Beach Islands, located below the Lake Onalaska Dam. Enjoy DIY Paddle Excursions or float with Paddle Ambassadors that may help guide you through the area. Four (4) free kayaks rentals are available. At Red Pines Café lower parking lot in Onalaska, enjoy reimbursed rentals from Kayak Kiosk! Enjoy DIY Paddle Excursions or float with Paddle Ambassadors that may help guide you through the area. There will be guide to help check out equipment. Four (4) free kayak and four (4) free paddle boards will be available for a free reimbursement. Paddling Film Festival | The Rivoli Theater

The Paddling Film Festival happening August 16th at the Rivoli Theater is part of the World Paddling Tour. This free event is an international tour presenting the best paddling films of the year, including 29 inspiring paddling films and the 11 festival category winners.

Tickets are FREE! We ask that you please reserve the tickets you will be needing using the link provided. Please only confirm the seats you will need and if you are not able to attend please let us know 48 hours in advance so we can open those seats back up.


Day 3 – Saturday, August 17th, 2024

Free Paddle Excursion | Schafer’s Dock at Fred Funk Landing

At the Onalaska Canoe Trail, meet at the Fred Funk Landing gently paddle along the shore of Lake Onalaska to Schafer’s Dock on Brice Prairie there will be DIY Paddle Excursions or float with a Paddle Ambassadors that may help guide you through the region area. (Ambassadors TBD). There will be four (4) free rentals available. Schafer’s River Rentals donate kayaks, please call ahead to reserve your equipment at (608)781-3100.

Great Lakes Kayak Fishing Series (GLFKS), happening on August 17-18, will be held at Pools 7, 8, and 9 in La Crosse, WI. This event runs concurrently with the All American Kayak Series (AAKS) during Paddles & Premiers – The La Crosse Region Paddle Weekend.

Anglers will be competing in the All American Kayak Series (AAKS) on August 17-18. This event runs concurrently with the Great Lakes Kayak Fishing Series (GLFKS) during Paddles & Premiers – The La Crosse Region Paddle Weekend.
