John Halter, book signing; DRIVING DAD HOME

(La Crosse, WI): John Halter, author of the new book DRIVING DAD HOME (see attached synopsis), will revisit La Crosse for the first time since the book was published last November, 2023. The visit has significance because La Crosse was the final destination for the journey described in the book. John’s father, Russell, lived out the remaining two and a half years of his life in the Clare Bridge Memory Care Unit on La Crosse’s south side. 

“La Crosse was the perfect place for my dad at this stage of his life,” said Halter. “He was well-cared for at Clare Bridge and Gundersen Health, and was able to regularly visit my brother’s farm between Stoddard and Chaseburg, where he was surrounded by the things he loved most-family, cows, old tractors, and dogs.” Halter will be signing books at Gallery 1802, 1802 State Street, near UW-L, from 10am to 2pm on Saturday February 3.
