La Crosse Adventure Films Shares Local Adventure Stories with: A Night with an Adventurer

La Crosse, WI: January 31st  – La Crosse Adventure Films will be hosting A Night with an Adventurer  for the greater La Crosse community. This new series will be hosted at the Pump HouseRegional Arts Center and will feature a guest adventurer from the Coulee Region eight times in the next year. The first speaker is Michael Borst on Tuesday, January 31stat 6:30 p.m. at the Pump House at 119 King St. La Crosse Adventure Films will offer free tickets for each of the speaker experiences. Tickets can be reserved through our website. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and there will be a cash bar and snacks available.

Michael Borst is a local physical therapist at DynamicPhysiotherapy. Michael is an ultra trail runner, mountain biker, President of the River City Running Club, and is the race director for the Hixon 50k, LaCrosse Marathon, the Hixon Trail Series and the Firecracker 4 Mile. Michael has completed ultra trail races from 50 miles to 100+ miles all over the country and the world. He will be sharing his races experiences (highs and lows) and stories from the trail.

At each A Night with an Adventurer experience, the guest speaker for the evening will choose a local non-profit or cause to highlight.Guests are welcome to donate to the cause for the evening. Michael has chosen SummitEnvironmental School’s PTO Playground Fundraiser. The Summit PTO is working to raise awareness and funds to build a new outdoor experiential playground and native garden.

Everest experiences·       March:Judson Steinback – Speaking on his upcoming Guiness Book of World Records MississippiRiver canoe attempt·       May:Dave Groth – Speaking his on alpine and rock climbing experience, and the history of climbing in La Crosse·       June:Grant Soper – Speaking on recently completing the Pacific Crest Trail thru hike·       September:Paul Reardon – Speaking on being a professional bike mechanic on worldwide tours and on local bike events·       October:Josh Powell – Speaking on his experience as a hunting guide in Alaska and a professional chef in the wilderness·       December:Marty Sobeck – Speaking on cross country skiing worldwide and the Birkebeiner

La Crosse Adventure Films believes the community is stronger when we are together. Together sharing ideas, encouraging each other, and inspiring adventures. Additionally, the outdoor adventure opportunities in the La Crosse area are rapidly growing. These resources have added great value to our area and the ripple effects are being seen in a variety of tertiary industries. La Crosse Adventure Films is excited to highlight these outdoor recreation opportunities in the region and to give a platform for local organizations and businesses to share their message and reach new participants. We are also excited to use the donations from this series to give back to local organizations and nonprofits.
