Nature Journaling is a fun way to document observations and create connections with the natural world. Join us at the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge to kick off National Wildlife Refuge Week.

This outdoor workshop will celebrate the scientific and creative wonders of our natural prairies. Naturalist learning will be provided to explore the importance of prairie ecosystems and pollinators, in addition to creative art making.

Participants will be guided on the trails to explore the prairie and their own creativity through watercolor painting and colored pencil sketching as tools for nature journaling.

All art materials will be provided. Workshop is geared towards adults and children age 8+. Space is limited to 20 participants. Each child must be accompanied by a caregiver, no unsupervised children. No art experience necessary. Participants are welcome to bring their own art supplies and journal.
