Duck Scavenger Hunt

The fall migration is starting! Have you ever wondered which ducks stop by the river? Stop by the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge Visitor Center in Onalaska, WI during open hours (9am – 3pm, Wednesday-Saturday) anytime this month and pick up a duck scavenger hunt sheet at the front desk. Match the photos on the scavenger hunt sheet to duck photos around the exhibit room to learn to recognize a few of the birds that call the river home! Clues for kiddos will guide them to find, for example, “a duck with a blue bill,” with the names of the ducks given beneath the picture for more experienced birders.
