Come help us celebrate our proud history with events throughout the city. This event is held annually on the 3rd Saturday in June. Begin the day with a breakfast sandwich special from the Garden of Eatin or grab one from the Galesville Lions on the square. Stop by the Farmers & Artisans booths and listen to live music with the Gate City Jazz Band.
At the Arnold House, visit with the 2nd Minnesota Battery and feel the boom of live cannon firings at 11:00 and 1:00. Listen to live camp music while you view the beautiful Civil War era reproduction quilts. Watch the woodcarvers and find out what plein air painting is. Make your own rope and play Native American games. A Stew & Biscuit lunch will be sold with beverages and desserts available.
Enjoy Old Main’s George and Gertrude Gale Strawberry Social with a special Dorothy Twesme 100th birthday tribute by Maria Alvarez Stroud. Then watch the Twesme family award presentation and view the current art show. The program will close with strawberry shortcake.
Throughout the day, spend time with the Galesville Fire Department AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. Chicken-Q starts at 11:00 with brats, burgers and hot dogs in the afternoon. View the 1941 Fire Truck and Historic Galesville Fires display. Join in the raffles, bake sale and bingo. For the young at heart, have fun in the Kid’s Zone with inflatables. Enjoy polka music in the afternoon with Karl, Ryan & Denny and finish the day with Double Take from 7-11.
