Norskedalen’s 40th Midsummer Fest

A traditional Norwegian holiday, Midsummer Fest celebrates the longest day of the short Scandinavian summer. At Norskedalen, we add the celebration of the Norwegian-American heritage to our Midsummer Fest. Join us between 10-4 on June 18 and enjoy:
~ demonstrations of blacksmithing, ropemaking, corn shelling, flintknapping and bee keeping
~ a wide variety of traditional fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, knitting, embroidery, Hardanger embroidery and more.
~ traditional Norwegian folk arts of rosemaling and wood carving
~ Norwegian Fjord horses plus Emma the Donkey
~ horse-drawn wagon rides
~ Docent-led tours of the Historic Bekkum Homestead and the Helga Gundersen Arboretum
~ Entertainment throughout the day by the Wergeland Dancers, Buddy Rundhaugen, David Hartman, Saner & Gibbons, and the GrassRun Band
~ Traditional Norwegian open-faced sandwiches, lefse, strawberry shortcake, tapped rootbeer and more
