Stadtkapelle Neu Ulm – German City Band Live Performance

Join us for an unforgettable musical journey as the Stadtkapelle Neu Ulm, the City Band from Neu Ulm, Germany, brings the sounds of Oberkrainer music to the heart of America at the traditional US Oktoberfest!

Over 40 talented musicians from Ulm and Neu Ulm, along with delegations from both cities, will cross the Atlantic to Minnesota and Wisconsin this autumn. Get ready to clap along to the infectious rhythms of Oberkrainer music, courtesy of sister city, New Ulm.

This meticulously planned trip has been in the works since 2019 when the New Ulm Concord Singers celebrated Neu Ulm’s 150th anniversary. Though delayed by the pandemic, the time has come for four days of festivities in New Ulm, featuring parades, receptions, and concerts, followed by six days of performances in surrounding states.

Musical director and conductor, Thomas Hartmann, has been hard at work preparing a repertoire that will have you swaying and clapping along. It’s not just a concert; it’s an experience! We’ve even formed a special “Oberkrainer Formation” featuring musicians from Ulm to keep the energy high.

For some of our musicians, the first step is finding the perfect dirndl or lederhosen to complete the Bavarian experience. Join us on this musical journey that bridges cultures and celebrates the bonds between our cities!
