Why Jump in Cold Water, You Ask?
The Polar Plunge is the winter fundraiser for Special Olympics Wisconsin. Since 1999, plungers and their supporters have raised over $20 million for Special Olympics athletes, right here in Wisconsin. Donations support the 18 different Olympic-type sports offered year-round, including National and World Games, as well as free health care screenings to ensure optimal health and performance during competition. The outcome? The opportunity for over 10,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities to experience joy, pride and respect. Pretty amazing, huh?

It’s Easy to Take the Plunge
Simply register on-line at https://polarplungewi.org/and begin raising pledges to earn some cool prizes! Don’t forget to invite your friends, family and coworkers to join your team. Too chicken to Plunge? That’s okay – there are a number of ways to get involved without getting wet! Check out our website for more information and a complete schedule of events.

Too Chicken to Plunge?
Too cold? Taking a year off? A retired Plunger? Want to help support more than 10,000 Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes without having to jump in the freezing cold water? Register as a “Polar Pledger” and you will still have the ability to raise pledges, earn incentives, and be part of the fun! Pledgers are a great addition to every Plunge Team and are great at giving moral support, cheering from the comfort of the sidelines, taking team photos and helping to celebrate your team’s success.

Volunteers Are Needed
The Polar Plunge is our biggest fundraiser of the year and without your help we wouldn’t be able to make it a success to help fund over 10,000 athletes in Special Olympics Wisconsin. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Contact us if you would like to help with this event or any other Special Olympics Wisconsin event (we have many throughout the year)!
