Old traditions were laid aside, and new ones were instituted. Greed, jealousy, and suspicion persisted. Were these at the root of the “Salem Witch Trials”? Innocent residents of Salem, Massachusetts were tried, and many executed, in one of the most infamous chapters in early American history.
