Third Thursday Market – Second Nature at Reads Creek Nursery

Our next Third Thursday Market on June 15th, and we are so excited for all of the fun things coming your way! This month, the theme is “Furry Friends & Backyard Wildlife” as we celebrate animals of all kinds at the nursery along with live music, food trucks and vendors.

SCHEDULE:
5-8 pm – Shop market vendors, enjoy Dave’s Pizza, Magpie Gelato, & Udder Brothers Ice Cream, pick up a scavenger hunt to do with your family in the gift shop, check out all of the plants in bloom at the nursery, shop in the gift shop, watch the koi swimming in the pond, relax by the waterfall on the porches, play with puppies at the Driftless Humane Society’s tent, SALE: 15% off any gift shop/nursery item with an animal in the name of it, unwind & enjoy the company of family, friends and neighbors

5:30 pm – AUTHOR: Join author Jane Schmidt and faithful K-9 friend, Finnegan, for an interactive discussion about Finn’s backpacking adventures. Finnegan will have books for sale which tell all about his amazing outdoor adventures, and will be signing books, as well!

6 – 8 pm – LIVE MUSIC: Jay Hoffman & Jim Schaffer will be playing originals and an acoustic mix of familiar covers on the gift shop steps

6 pm -CLASS: Landscaping for Birds & Insects – Both educational and inspirational, Roger Reynolds will guide you on a walk around the nursery as he helps you find specific ways to help create spaces to nurture our wild friends.

6:15 & 7:15 – PET PHOTOS: Snuggle up with your special pet under the big willow tree for some fun photos for a free-will donation to the Driftless Humane Society

6:45 pm – PET PARADE: Bring your leashed pets to the nursery for a PET PARADE with some fun prizes

SPECIAL REQUEST:
Know any kids, adults, clubs or groups who:
-Love to sketch, paint, or create animals, birds, or wildlife art?
-Make pet tags, toys, bandanas or treats?
-Provide pet-care services such as dog walking, grooming, or boarding services?
-Support the efforts of area rescue or adoption activities?
-Make homemade bread, cookies, or sandwiches?
-Teach art, cooking, dance, or fly tying?
-Build with legos, build forts, build outdoor kitchens or build community?
-Collect or study something interesting?
-Are cleaning out the house or toy room and would like to set up a cool little sale from the back of their trunk?

We were thrilled to have some kids join us in May to sell things they have made or wanted to trade, and we are looking for even more kids to join us in June. There is no charge for children to set up a table. Just fill out an application (see below) and indicate it is a child who will be the vendor.
