Big Band Cabaret & Dance Party

The Jazz Orchestra will get dancers moving with swing tunes such as Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood,” Tommy Dorsey’s “Song of India,” and from Duke Ellington, “Main Stem” and “Rumpus from Richmond.” The group will also play a mix of Latin and contemporary music. Dr. Jeff Erickson, the director of the Jazz Orchestra, says “ along with the classics that our audiences have come to love, there will be lots of new songs and styles that the ensembles haven’t covered heard in previous years. That’s why we have added ‘Dance Party’ to the name. We want to reflect the diversity of both big band music and dance music and explore that intersection.”

The Justin Trails Makers Market with Food offers a great selection of locally made items that embrace the bounty of our beautiful Driftless Region. The market takes place inside our beautiful century-old Elegant Barn on the first floor called The Studio (where the cows used to live). The Studio is a gorgeous, heated space with wood-wrapped walls, a fireplace, 2 bathrooms and can be rented for parties, events, meetings, and retreats.

Gary Brueggen is polka royalty, descended from three generations of polka musicians hailing from Cashton, WI. Known as "Wisconsin's Concertina Kid", Gary has been honored by the World Concertina Congress Hall of Fame and the International Polka Music Hall of Fame. The Ridgeland Dutchmen band has toured the U.S. and elsewhere, snagging recognition as "Band of the Year" by the Wisconsin Polka Music Hall of Fame in 2003 and 2008.
